Come and explore this magnificent area, so close to home, yet so far from your everyday life in Sarajevo. A popular destination in pre-war Sarajevo and an opportunity to see Sarajevo from Trebević on a nice day. We take the secondary road to Jahorina via Vraca to Brus, where we park our vehicle and begin our 500-meter climb to the top of Trebević (1,629 meters). Our hike takes us along a long and winding mountain trail. Although we travel through pine and spruce-covered forests most of the time, you will occasionally be rewarded with beautiful views of the Romanija and Bukovik mountains.
We reach the top and if the weather permits, you will be in the center of a white universe and see Sarajevo, all the surrounding towns and villages and the mountains Bukovik, Ozren, Crepoljsko, Romanija, Ravna planina, Jahorina, Maglić, Bioč, Volujak, Zelengora, Lelija, Treskavica, Visočica, Bjelašnica, Igman, Prenj, Čvrsnica, Vran, Bitovnja, Raduša, Vranica, Vlašić, Perun, Zvijezda. After enjoying the view, we descend again via an alternative, steeper but shorter route.
