The climb itself takes about four hours along relatively well-maintained mountain trails with steep cliffs and is by far the most challenging part of today's hike. Please note that this trail is not suitable for those with a fear of heights.

Each step takes us further over the surrounding peaks until we reach the top. Here we stop for lunch and enjoy wonderful views of Montenegro and our next destination, the emerald waters of Trnovacko Lake. Tara is one of the four beautiful whitewater rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina that offer professionally guided rafting tours. Tara River is among the best in Europe for class II-IV. This Tara rafting tour will pleasantly surprise you with its breathtaking wilderness and unforgettable landscapes. A jewel among the world's natural heritage sites, Tara River features the deepest canyon in Europe.

The river follows the natural border between Bosnia & Montenegro for most of the time. Towards the end of the rafting we enter Bosnia & Herzegovina. The 1,300 meter deep canyon has created some of the best rafting and kayaking in Europe. We enjoy an early dinner on the Tara River. Tonight we spend the night in simple wooden huts next to the river, enjoying the sound of the water and the campfire.

From here we continue the hike over the Skrka pass at 2,112 m and further down into the Dobri-do valley.

Today's hike covers a total of 12 km, taking us from forested trails across rocky mountain terrain and finally down to the Dobri do plateau. Today we enjoy some great views and stunning peaks surrounding us.

We start relatively high, on Sedlo (1,900 m), and hike across the grassy slope of Surutka towards Zupci ("teeth"), a magnificent massif with 14 sharp, rocky "teeth" - a trademark of Durmitor.

After circling the "teeth" we reach the glacial Zeleni Vir lake, the highest in Durmitor, and then begin the steep climb to Bobotov Kuk. With each step the views expand until we reach the summit of Bobotov Kuk - the highest point in Montenegro. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Adriatic Sea from here. We enjoy lunch here and then descend again via Zeleni Vir. This part of the trip is easy and we hike across grassy meadows before a short drive back to Zabljak for a well-deserved rest.
