Itinerary

Day 1:
The morning begins with a city bike ride through Sarajevo towards Hrasnica, from where our gradual ascent through the dense pine forests of the Igman Mountains along the “Igman War Route” begins. Igman has also hosted several Winter Olympics, including ski jumping and cross-country skiing. During the 1000-day Siege of Sarajevo in the 90s, Igman was the only lifeline for the city. We will take the exact route via Igman, as many Sarajevoans did.

The ride will take 4-5 hours, mostly on gravel roads with an altitude difference of about 900 m. We end today's ride at Hrasnicki Stan and spend the night in the Igmanska Rosa mountain hut.

Accommodation: Igmanska Rosa, Igman Mountains
Meals: L, D

Day 2:
Today's route takes us through the "Olympic history" region of Bjelasnica to Lukomir, the highest village in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1,469 m). The ride will take 4-5 hours, about 20 km of singletrack. We end the day in the traditional village of Umoljani, where we stay overnight in a mountain hotel run by a local family.

Accommodation: Pension Umoljani, Bjelasnica Mountains
Meals: B, L, D

Day 3:
Directly from our accommodation we start a fantastic "three mountains tour" through Bjelasnica, Visocica and Prenj. The scenery is spectacular as we enter a very remote region. The ride takes about 5 hours on a mix of gravel and asphalt roads and ends with a stunning 1,500m descent to Boracko Lake where we spend the night.

Accommodation: Pension Sunce, Boracko Lake
Meals: B, L, D

Day 4:
After a 15-minute drive to Borci, we start a spectacular ride through the region known by the locals as the “Herzegovinian Himalayas”. This is a challenging ride of around 5 hours with many climbs on a mix of gravel and asphalt roads. We explore Mt. Velež and finish the ride with an incredibly exciting descent to Potoci.

From there we drive 20 minutes to Mostar. In the afternoon we take a 2-hour transfer back to Sarajevo, where we end our 4-day bike tour.

Meals: B, L
