Prenj is a mountain range in the Dinaric Alps in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in eastern Herzegovina, near Mostar, Jablanica and Konjic. The highest peak is Zelena glava at 2,115 m (6,939 ft). The Prenj massif has at least 11 peaks over 2000 m. The name Prenj comes from Perun, the supreme deity of Slavic mythology.
Geologically, the perimeter of Prenj is part of the Dinaric Alps and consists mainly of secondary and tertiary sedimentary rocks, mainly limestone and dolomite, with pronounced karst landscape features. Due to underground drainage, Prenj is relatively dry with few water sources, only a few tiny lakes and smaller streams originating from these mountains: Baščica and Bijela, tributaries of the Neretva.
